Sempai Chad has been involved in martial arts throughout his life. Chad began studying martial arts at the age of six years young. He was very privileged to have been taught by many great masters in different arts. His martial arts education was taught to him by many traditional Japanese, Okinawan, Korean, and American instructors who placed into practice their traditions, values, and wisdom of their culture and heritage. Brought-up in the United States, Chad learned form the very beginning how maintain sincerity, integrity, and respect with his family, friends, and teachers. He learned to be kind to everyone, and keep away from ignorance, prejudice, and hatred.
Sempai began by studying Japanese Shotokan Karate. He continued into Korean Tae Kwon Do, and then moved to learning Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate. While training in Shorin Ryu Karate, Chad was also training in Judo, and had the privilege to corss-train and learns important concepts in Japanese Ju-Jitsu. Lastly, Chad invested the past years in Japanese Kyokushin Kai, and today Chad is a student and assistant instructor of Shihan Camille Ohan.
Sempai Chad holds 2nd Degree Black Belt in Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate, 2nd Degree Black Belt in Korean Tae-Kwon-Do, Junior Black Belt Candidate Japanese Shotokan Karate, 1st Kyu Japanese Judo. Until this day, Sempai Chad Cross trains, and exchanges concepts, ideas, and techniques with several friends who are full time professional martial artists in different systems and styles.
Sempai Chad is not only a professional martial artist, he is also academically a well educated individual. Chad worked on research and assisted many professors teach in the areas of Electrical Engineering, Physics, and Mathematics at both the college and university levels. He also received nationally and internationally regonized academic awards. Chad has, a natural gift, the ability of not just connecting with and guiding young boys, girls, men, and women achieve goals in martial arts, but also in the real world whether it is was in academics, or professionally.
